I spent three years working in construction and was doing really well. I applied for a job in Paducah, KY. Moving from my hometown, Chattanooga, TN, to a place where I knew no one was incredibly stressful. No family, no friends, and I couldn’t even find a place to live before starting the job until I hired a realtor moving in sight unseen.
I started the job, and it was awkward at first—meeting new people with different personalities, adjusting to a new job site, and learning the ropes as a quality control inspector. My role was to ensure everyone followed concrete guidelines (literally). I kept raising issues with my boss, but management wasn’t thrilled to hear my findings. One night, I walked into work, only to be greeted by a higher-up I’d never met before. He asked me to come to the office. Sure enough, I was fired.
a resilient go-getter

One day after getting fired, I was scrolling through YouTube and came across a permanent jewelry training course. I’ve only ever worked in a “man’s job”. I definitely was not dress-up daily kind of gal, but I was a go-getter type of a gal!
Once I was confident in welding jewelry, I hit the pavement asking places if I could have a pop-up shop in their space. My hometown of Chattanooga, TN made it easier to book pop ups. My parents also live in Winchester, TN, so it was easy to book pop-ups there, too.
What started as a small spark of inspiration has grown into something I’m truly proud of today. Winchester has become more than just a place to live; it’s become the heart of my business. I’m grateful for the challenges, connections, and people who have supported me along the way. This journey has been filled with hard work, learning, and growth. Here’s to the future and to continuing this incredible adventure!
